MBA Waitlist Tips

Quite of a few of you found out this week (and will find out in the next several weeks) that you have been waitlisted. After ten years in this business I've given a lot of thought to MBA waitlists.  I've talked to admissions staff about waitlists. I've talked to reapplying applicants who were waitlisted. And I've advised scores of  successful waitlisted applicants.

Here are a couple of articles  that will provide immediate assistance:

"Waitlist Purgatory"
"5 Keys to Unlock the Waitlist Lock"

In addition, I have a couple of projects in the hopper to assist waitlisted applicants:

  1. On Wednesday February 9, 2005  at 10:00 AM/1:00 PM ET/6:00 pm GMT, I will host a chat for waitlisted applicants. I will give a short presentation on WL strategy followed by a questions and answer session.
  2. 9 Mistakes You Don't Want to Make on the MBA Waitlist is an ebook that should be available for purchase late next week or early the following week. I will announce it on my blog, but if you want to receive e-mail notification when the ebook is ready, please send a blank e-mail to wlebook@accepted.com . [PS posted 2/1/05:  The MBA waitlist ebook is now available. ]

Finally, Accepted.com assists waitlisted applicants . We've been through this before. Paying for an hour of individual advising targeting your specific needs and developing a waitlist strategy for you and your waitlisting school could be a great investment with an incredibly high payoff.  Think about it.
