College Board Gets Strict With AP Courses

The Wall St. Journal reports that the College Board has decided to tighten its controls on AP courses. Before labeling a course "Advanced Placement" schools will need receive the College Board's approval. Obtaining that approval will require schools to:

• Provide syllabi, a sample assignment, and a sample test.
• Agree to cover specified topics.
• Choose texts from a pre-approved list.
